The Age have a story featured about some dumb cunt who drove his car in front of a train this morning:

Commuter chaos after level crossing crash

An elderly driver was lucky to survive a collision with a train at a level crossing in Melbourne’s north this morning.

A witness said the 75-year-old driver was still in the car on impact.

“Some people working nearby went over to the car after the train stopped and helped him out, and he told them the sun was in his eyes,” the witness said.

Constable Meredith Grisold said the driver entered the crossing and “fortunately for him the train was slowing and hit mainly on the rear panels”.

“He said as he was driving, the sun glare stopped him from seeing the boom gates were down,” Constable Grisold said.

“I then asked him about the warning bells and he said he just didn’t hear them. It would have happened in a split second. He hit the boom gates which shot up. He entered the crossing and the train hit him a split second.

Alrighty, so he claims the sun was in his eyes and he didn’t see the barriers down. He also claims he didn’t hear the bells.

Several weeks ago I wrote about Gwen Bates, the mother of Kay Stanley, and her endless fucking carping over the level crossing in Tyabb. Along with the residents of Tyabb, she claimed that the lack of barriers and bells at that crossing was the only factor relating to the death of her daugher after she drove into the path of a train.

They also claimed that the sun was often in the eyes of motorists as they travelled along that road and over that level crossing, and that barriers and bells would prevent an incident of this type taking place.

I think Gwen Bates and the residents of Tyabb need to fuck right off and have another think about all of this. Or better yet, just fuck off altogether.
