Bring It On, Bitches

Yesterday afternoon I was quite fucking bored so I decided to Google myself. Just to see what I could find. Apart from the usual bullshit, I found my name had been mentioned on a website called JustAnswer. Taking a look at the page in question, I found this:

Good afternoon, i recently found out there is a current website in australia, stereotyping people and using abusive language (swearing) to describe the random people, to cause conversations for their blogs. can someone stop/close this website? or to silence criticisms. they use photos from the media as support to ridicule people further… please advise.. your help would be greatly appreciated

Orly?

There’s no way in hell they could be talking about my blog, right? Is there?

Fuck me. They ARE talking about me.

this is related to one blog andy blume has written…and i don’t know how many more he will write similar to this… it can hurt professionally, if people found this site.. the abuse is related through targeting the people in a photo.. found here:

http://blog.andyblume.com/?p=3649#comments

andy blume the author of the website..has made sexually connotations describing what should be done..as a prize.. used to spark entries under his comments.. his comment was sexually influenced based…targeting the people in the photo..

his influence and blogs, demeans the people in the photo..would the people in the photo have any grounds for actioning to silencing his critisims?

please find what andy blume the author of the website has written.. in his blog below..

“Thus kicks off our first caption competition. Leave your entries in the comments, and I’ll announce a winner when I’m sober enough to remember. Best caption gets a titty f**k from the slut in the photo, or a manbooby f**k from the geek.”

reading this again…its offensive more because this publication of material tends to injure personally, professionally and reputation of the individuals in the photo to expose them… to ridicule… influencing people to degrade and humilate the people in the photo.. its damaging … effects may have physcological/stress to the people who are in the photo.

is there some kind of code of practice… andy blume has to abide by? does andyblume have rights to publish such comments on a website? is there an australian law condemning such practices? did he get permission from the owner of the photo?

how can the people in the photo defend themselves?

please advise..
your help would be greatly appreciated

Some “lawyer” from Queensland then offered this handy piece of information:

If you are one of the people in the photo, then you have options.

You can start by having a lawyer write Andy a letter of demand requiring him to take down the photo and related content within 7 days.

If he doesn’t, the letter should state that you are prepared to commence legal action against him. The letter needs to be written on a lawyer’s letterhead so that he takes it seriously.

Assuming Andy is not scared into removing the photo and offensive content, then you will need to commence proceedings against Andy in your local District Court. In the course of those proceedings you can seek an injunction requiring Andy or the host of the website to take down the website pending the final decision of the Court.

Obviously you would need a lawyer to assist with this, but depending on where in Australia you reside I may be able to recommend one who can assist. Just let me know.

Yes. Whoever it was paid $38 to a “lawyer” over teh intarwebs just to be told to go see a lawyer so that I can be bullied into doing something. Plus something tells me that you can’t be that great of a “lawyer” if you sit around dispensing cheap advice over the internet. I kinda get the impression that if you were any good you’d be out there charging real clients much more for your time and so-called expertise. Just sayin’.

Anway, I had to go back and have a read over the original entry referred to in that question, because while I remember writing something I didn’t have much of an idea what the fuck I actually said.

Scrolling through the comments that were left on that entry I found that there were two comments left that both contained gratuitous use of “…” throughout – just like in the question that was asked above. That possibly narrows it down to either Anthony or Sean C. If they happned to be using their real names. Both comments have the same level of spelling and grammatical errors as in the posed question, so it’s a bit difficult to make a decision.

I thought it might be the fake-tittied slut I referred to, but then quickly discounted her as she doesn’t look like she has the ability to string more than two words together.

Oh Internet, what lolz WON’T you give me?

If you've been outraged and offended at what I've said in this post, you may like to be outraged and offended at these possibly related posts:

It seems getting a legal threat is a right of passage on the blogosphere. I can’t wait to get my legal cherry popped.

Probably the nerd is said picture. He spent all of his pocket money on legal advice.

Sean, Anthony and the author of the JustAnswer question are all the same person. He/She continually struggles to spell the word “criticism” correctly.
